Do you believe in miracles? We do! We were blessed with a tiny miracle on May 31st, 2012 when Elora was born. She was so excited to share her message of hope and joy with the world that she surprised us by showing up 16 weeks before her due date at 24 weeks gestation, 1 pound, 6oz. and 12" long. Her eyelids were still fused shut and she was so tiny... part of me didn't believe she would make it; the statistics were pretty grim. I'm still in a state of shock after our long (95 days) stay in the NICU, where we watched in amazement as Elora continued to develop and grow in an incubator that helped regulate body temperature, monitor her heart rate and oxygen levels.
Without the research and education provided by the March of Dimes, such advanced equipment may not have awaited Elora at the NICU and our story may not have been so joyful. It is our intention that by sharing our story, we will bless other families with the possibility of their very own miracle. As an amazing success story, Elora wants to share hope with others!
Thank YOU for believing in miracles!
With love and endless gratitude,
Elora Sage and her proud parents, Brent and Allison Felchlin
